Small changes. Big savings.
Discover how everyday habits with Saveful could add up to meaningful savings over a year. Saveful is free to use.
Make it instead of takeaway
How often could Saveful help you make dinner instead of ordering takeaway?
Example assumptions: $15 takeaway and $5 homemade per person. Adjust to reflect your usual meals. Savings are the difference in costs, not the full takeaway price.
Save the food you already have
Thinking about a typical week, which foods sometimes don't get used up? Choose any that apply — no judgement, just opportunities to save.
Enter approximate weekly amounts of edible food that could otherwise go unused. Leave categories you don't identify at zero.
The value of food rescued is not always the same as cash you avoid spending. Don't count the same food again in the next challenge.
Make one more meal before you shop
Use ingredients you already have to make something extra instead of buying an additional meal or convenience item.
Only include purchases genuinely avoided, after any extra ingredients you buy. Don't count delayed shopping, takeaway swaps from challenge 1, or food value already counted in challenge 2.
Estimate your spend and we'll calculate your savings with My Perks Membership
Enter your approximate current spending to see how much you could save with eligible discounted gift cards.
Discount rates are illustrative and must be checked against current My Perks offers before publication. Gift card eligibility, brands, rates, availability and conditions vary. Check out My Perks in the Saveful app for the most up-to-date information.
Your potential annual Saveful value
Lots of small savings can add up to something big.
What this means: This total combines potential cash savings and the estimated value of edible food rescued. It's an illustration, not a guarantee of reduced household spending. Use distinct examples in each challenge to avoid double counting.
How we calculate your savings
Takeaway: people × meals replaced per month × (takeaway cost minus homemade cost) × 12, with no negative saving.
Food rescued: quantity of each edible food type per week × indicative unit value × 52 × the percentage selected on your slider. Indicative unit values in this version are editable assumptions for modelling, not independently verified live supermarket prices. They should be checked and dated before publishing this as a consumer claim.
Extra purchases: avoided purchases per month × net amount saved × 12. Only count purchases you would not otherwise make.
My Perks: monthly eligible spend × 12 × indicative discount rate, except travel and accommodation, which uses annual spend × rate. The calculation assumes the full entered amount is eligible for the discount, which may not be true in practice.
Overall: the four annual values are added together. Food rescued is food value recovered, which may not translate dollar-for-dollar into lower spending. All figures are indicative and exclude overlapping savings.
